It’s almost time again for Halloween, aka the one time of year you get to dress your kids up in the most ridiculous costumes and convince them you’re laughing with them, not at them.
You may remember the Oompa Loompa debacle from two years ago that went on for several weeks prior to Halloween. If not, let me catch you up. Scottie absolutely insisted on being an Oompa Loompa for Halloween, and once we realized absolutely nothing would change her mind, we gave in, bought some orange face paint, and made that costume happen.
I love letting my girls choose what costumes they want to wear for Halloween (within reason, of course) because it’s a chance for them to showcase their personalities (hence, Scottie as an Oompa Loompa). Most of the time, however, I try to start manipulating the system late summer so that they will dress up in a group costume.
This year they decided for a magical light up costume. i can imagine how much fun this will be to stroo through the night and gathering candies.
